I think I will probably not post any more stories that i have copied from other sources here.

Instead, I commend to your attention the excellent stories and comments on Dine' culture posted by diné_àsdzání_nizhóní and others at http://groups.msn.com/shidinechat/dineeculture.msnw

These are the real thing, posted in the words of (I am assuming) real Dine', and not something copied by a bilagaana from some compilation made by another bilagaana. Since my original intent was to help preserve and pass on the wisdom of the Dine' elders to those who might be interested, this excellent site does a much better job than my meager efforts can.

The original source material for most of the stories I posted has now also been placed on the net by others. Since some of the stories got lost in the shuffle as the forum categories were changed and after the hacker attack, anyone who is interested to read them all, in order, can now find them starting at http://www.sacred-texts.com/nam/nav/omni/

These posts of mine have failed in one way. I had hoped to get some discussion going, and maybe inspire others to post some stories or discuss topics of Dine' culture. While the stories were well received, it did sort of turn into a one man show, which is kind of disappointing. But this topic will (presumably) remain alive -- hopefully someone will be inspired to post more materials here in the future.

These stories are for the wintertime, I dont know if that had any impact on why they didnt catch on. Ive also noticed there are differences in some stories depending on the region its from, maybe some of these differences turned some people away. I also dont think alot of the people visiting forums are interested in stories like this anymore...

I'm interested, but then I'm not Dine.' Probably no one is very interested in their own culture if they hear about it all the time or live totally immersed in it. They just get interested if they were separated from it somehow or if it's foreign.
